The Signing Ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics(CSAA) and American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics(AIAA) was held on October 25, 2011 at CSAA meeting room in Beijing, China. 10 AIAA delegates and 9 CSAA delegates were present at the Ceremony. AIAA Vice President Dr. Susan Ying and CSAA Secretary General Prof. Wu Song signed the MOU on behalf of the two Societies. After that, Dr. Ying and Prof. Wu delivered addresses respectively.
In Prof. Wu’s speech, he expressed that the signing of this MOU with AIAA, one of the world’s leading societies in the field of aeronautics and astronautics, was a significant and historic event, which would certainly take our international cooperation and communication to a new height. Dr. Ying agreed with Prof. Wu and stated that China and US were two big economic entities in the world. The cooperation between them in the field of aeronautics and space could help solve many difficulties and better deal with challenges.
Besides, participants from both sides exchanged ideas about the management of the social organization and possible future cooperation. Everyone was actively engaged in the discussion. Both sides thought the signing ceremony was the first step of establishing contact. In the future, they will strengthen the contact and deepen the friendship through carrying out all kind of activities.
The signing ceremony was a successful one. Both the two societies and all the participants benefited from it. The MOU between CSAA and AIAA will certainly serve as a good framework for their future cooperation.
